Our History
Yoddha FC is a soccer club dedicated to providing training and instruction to any young ladies that desire to learn or better their soccer skills. We invite anyone ages 10 and up to join us for our open training sessions at Civic Park in Reynoldsburg, Ohio. For more info send us an email at yoddhafc@yahoo.com
Yoddha FC started 7 years ago in 2018, with a goal to empower young girls through sports and to represent the city in the Bhutanese-Nepali women’s tournaments that are held every summer in various cities in the US. My love for soccer led me to other young girls who shared the same dream and more. Yoddha holds a special place in my heart as it has been the most successful team throughout our soccer journey. There have been many teams that formed with several different names which started with the same shared dream. The team was fueled by a desire to prove something to the people who didn’t believe in them. For example, their parents, the community and themselves. However, after a while the teams would dissipate for various reasons. After many years of failure with women’s soccer teams, we started to focus on younger girls. The trainings were not easy but they were determined. If they were not ready to give 100%, they were not ready. Today I can look back and say every girl in that team gave 100%. Their sportsmanship, their hard work, and their talent shone through the years. Many girls came out of the team that changed the way people viewed women players, women’s teams and the women’s tournaments differently. Many girls today continue to be inspired and join the team in hopes of being just like their big sisters they admired growing up. The soccer tournament organizing committees are now taking a more serious look at women’s soccer. This team was able to build confidence, sportsmanship, a healthy lifestyle, and a lifelong support system. This continues to be possible today with the help of their wonderful coach and other supporters. --Priya Sharma
